A Nurturer, Advocate, and Birthworker
Shanel Robinson is a full-spectrum birth doula with over a decade of experience in advocacy and health care. Her journey into birth work was driven by a deep passion for supporting and uplifting her community. Today, she takes pride in ensuring that each client feels empowered, heard, and fully supported throughout their birth experience.
For Shanel, becoming a doula was a natural extension of her nurturing personality. She has always been drawn to helping and advocating for women, particularly as they navigate one of life’s most transformative moments—childbirth. Her goal is to provide emotional, physical, and informational support to parents, ensuring they feel confident in their birth choices and have the experience they envision.
Witnessing a mother’s joy after giving birth on her own terms is one of the most fulfilling aspects of Shanel’s work. She thrives on coaching, guiding, and standing beside families as they welcome their new additions in an environment that feels safe and supportive.
Shanel’s journey as a doula began with training at MOMCares, an organization dedicated to advocating for Black maternal health. Her experience there reinforced her commitment to ensuring that families receive the care, education, and support they deserve. In her role at Sweet Bee Services, she also works to connect clients with resources, helping them navigate the healthcare system to find solutions that best meet their needs.
